This page sets out the terms for using sudeshnathapa.com, including its free tools, guides and audits, and the ground rules for paid work with me. I have kept it in plain English so you can see where you stand before you rely on anything here or get in touch. Using the site means you agree to these terms, so if you would rather not, please stop using it.
Two other pages sit alongside this one and are not repeated here. The privacy policy explains what personal data the site collects, why, and what your rights are. The cookie policy lists the cookies the site sets and explains how to change your consent at any time.
Who runs this site
The site is run by me, Sudeshna Thapa, an SEO and digital marketing consultant based in London. On this page “I”, “me” and “my” mean me, and “you” means the person using the site or hiring me. These are the details for reaching me:

What the site is for
The site explains the SEO, paid advertising and wider digital marketing work I do for UK businesses. It also publishes free material: guides and checklists, a glossary of marketing terms, calculators and checkers, and audits on request. It is information and an invitation to talk. Reading a page or sending a form does not create a contract for paid work; that only happens when we both agree a written proposal, as described under “Working with me” below.
Everything on the site is general. It cannot take account of your own website, budget, market or competitors, so check anything important against your circumstances before acting on it. The disclaimer goes into the limits of the information, the tools and any results shown on the site in more detail.
Using the site
You are welcome to read, search and use the site for your business or for your own interest. In return, please do not:
- try to get into parts of the site, its server or its accounts that are not public, or probe it for security weaknesses (unauthorised access to a computer system is a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990);
- upload or send anything containing malicious code, or use the forms to send spam or advertising;
- send automated requests at a rate that slows the site for other visitors, or copy its pages in bulk by automated means;
- submit a form with false details, or with another person’s details unless they have agreed to it;
- use the site for anything unlawful or fraudulent.
If you come across a security problem, please email me with what you found instead of testing it further, and I will look into it.
The site is free, and I do not promise that it, or any page or tool on it, will always be available or free of errors. I may change, move or remove content at any time, for example to correct a mistake or to keep a guide accurate after Google or another platform changes its rules. I take reasonable steps to keep the site secure, but no website can be certain to be free of harmful code, so keep your own device protected with up-to-date security software.
Linking to the site
You may link to any page on the site, provided the link is fair and does not suggest that I endorse you, your business or your product when I have not. Please do not show the site inside a frame on another website.
Free tools, guides and audits
Calculators and checkers
The free SEO and marketing tools do their work inside your browser. The figures and text you type into them produce the result on your screen; they are not sent to me or stored on the site. If you have accepted analytics cookies, the site records that a tool was used, but not what you entered into it. A result depends entirely on what you enter, and every calculator has to simplify how a real ad account or business behaves. Use a result as one input to your own decision rather than as a forecast, and check it before you commit budget because of it.
Guides, checklists and the glossary
The guides, checklists and glossary entries describe how search engines and ad platforms generally work and how I approach common problems. Platforms change their interfaces, policies and ranking systems often, so a step that was right when I wrote it may since have moved or changed. Where a guide relies on a figure from another organisation, I name the source and link to it so you can check the original yourself.
Free audits
When you ask for a free audit, such as the free SEO audit, I review your site using the address and details you send and what I can see publicly. What you receive is my professional opinion at that moment, written to show where the main problems and opportunities appear to be. It is not the full audit I carry out as paid work, and it commits you to nothing: you can act on it yourself, hand it to your developer or set it aside.
Only request an audit of a site or account that you own or are authorised to share. I decide which requests I can take on and may decline one, for instance if the site is not yours to act for or if I would have nothing useful to add. The details you put in the request are handled as the privacy policy describes.
Copyright and other intellectual property
The words, images, tools and design of this site belong to me or to the people who have licensed them to me, and they are protected by copyright and other intellectual property law in the UK. You may:
- read, print or save pages for your own reference;
- quote a short extract, credited to me with a link to the page it came from;
- use the results a tool produces from your own figures in any way you like.
Without my written permission, please do not republish whole pages or substantial parts of them, sell or repackage the content, or copy the code behind the tools. Names such as Google, Google Ads, Meta, Facebook, Instagram, Microsoft Advertising, LinkedIn and TikTok are trade marks of their owners. I use them to describe the platforms I work on, and their appearance here does not mean any of those companies endorses me or works in partnership with me.
Working with me
This page is not a contract for paid services. Before any paid work starts, we agree a written proposal setting out what the work covers, what it will cost in pounds sterling and when it will be done, along with anything else specific to the job. Work begins once you have accepted that proposal in writing, and an email saying so is enough. If the proposal and this page say different things, the proposal applies.
Unless a proposal says otherwise, these principles apply to all my work:
- Your accounts stay in your name. Ad accounts, Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Business Profile and similar should be owned by your business. I work through user access you grant, I ask for the lowest level of access the job needs, and you can remove it whenever you choose.
- No promised outcomes. Rankings and ad performance depend on platforms, competitors and market conditions I do not control. I will tell you what I expect, what it depends on and how progress will be measured, but I do not promise particular positions, traffic, enquiries or sales.
- Personal data is covered in writing. If the work means I handle personal data for you, such as a customer list uploaded for an ad audience or enquiries held in a CRM, we agree written data processing terms before I start, as UK GDPR requires whenever a business uses a processor.
- Your information stays confidential. I use what you share about your business only for your work and do not pass it to anyone else without your agreement, unless the law requires me to.
If you hire me as a consumer rather than for a business, consumer law gives you further rights, including in most cases the right to cancel a contract agreed online or by phone within 14 days. Nothing on this page or in a proposal removes those rights.
Third-party platforms and links
Most marketing work happens on platforms owned by other companies, including Google, Meta, Microsoft, LinkedIn and TikTok. Your use of each one is governed by your own agreement with that company. They can change their rules, reject ads, restrict or suspend accounts and update their ranking systems without warning. I am not responsible for their decisions, although where the agreed work includes it, I will help you understand a decision and respond to it.
Links from this site to other websites are there because I think they are useful. I do not control those sites and am not responsible for their content, their availability or the way they handle your data. Some pages may show content supplied by another service, such as a video or a map; that service provides it under its own terms, and the cookie policy explains how such content is loaded.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow me to limit or exclude, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
If you use the site for business
The site and its free tools, guides and audits are provided without charge and as they stand. As far as the law allows, I give no undertaking that they are accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose, and I am not liable for loss of profit, sales, revenue, business opportunity, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss, that arises from using them or relying on them.
If you use the site as a consumer
If you use the site for private purposes, I am responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of my breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. I am not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. A loss counts as foreseeable when it was an obvious consequence, or when both of us could have expected it at the time you used the site.
Paid work
For paid work, what each of us is responsible for is set by the proposal you accept, within what the law permits.
If these terms are broken
If someone misuses the site, for example by trying to break into it or by sending abusive or automated form submissions, I may block their access, delete what they submitted and, where the law has been broken, report it to the relevant authorities.
If you use the site for business and break these terms in a way that leads to a claim against me, for instance by submitting someone else’s personal data without their permission, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and costs that result. This paragraph does not apply to consumers.
Law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute about them or about your use of the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
If something has gone wrong, please tell me first at contact@sudeshnathapa.com. Most problems are quicker to put right in a conversation than through a formal process.
Changes to these terms
I will update these terms when the site, the law or the way I work changes. The “Updated” date on this page shows when it last changed, and the version on the site at the time of your visit is the one that applies to it. A change here does not alter a proposal you have already accepted; changing a proposal needs both of us to agree in writing.
Questions about these terms
If any part of this page is unclear, or you want to know how it would apply to a particular piece of work, send me a message through the contact page or call me, and I will explain it before you commit to anything.
