8 Crowns Steam Cleaning Services is a cleaning business in Australia that serves customers in more than one city. This case study sets out what the business needed, the work I did and the results.
The challenge
8 Crowns needed a website that supported conversions and gave it stronger placement in multiple cities. Those are two separate jobs. Placement is about appearing when someone searches for a steam cleaner in their own city. Conversion is about what happens next: whether the person who lands on the site understands the service quickly enough to pick up the phone.
A business that travels to its customers has a particular problem here. It has no shopfront in most of the places it serves, so its website and its Google listing have to do the work of telling search engines, and customers, where it operates.
What I did
The work had four parts.
- On-page structuring. Organising the pages and their headings so that each one has a clear purpose and it is obvious what the business offers. Clear structure helps search engines match a page to a search, and helps a visitor find what they came for. This is the heart of on-page SEO.
- Refined web copy. Reworking the wording on the site so that it explains the service plainly and gives a visitor a reason to get in touch.
- Metadata clean-up. Tidying the title tags and meta descriptions, the lines a searcher reads in the results before deciding which listing to click.
- Google Business Profile optimisation. Improving the business’s Google Business Profile, the listing that can appear in the local pack of map results. For a cleaning company that visits homes, this listing is often the first thing a customer sees.
Alongside the SEO, I handled the complete social media rebranding for 8 Crowns, developing a consistent visual theme and creating new post designs from scratch. Social media design is not my main focus. I took it on at the founder’s request, to support the startup’s launch and its early brand building.
Results
The results were qualitative rather than numerical:
- Higher visibility in local searches.
- An online presence with brand authority.
- Consistent local leads via calls.
What this shows
For a business that serves customers at their homes, local SEO is rarely one big fix. It is a set of ordinary jobs done properly: clear pages, plain copy, accurate metadata and a well-kept Google listing. Each one is modest on its own; together they decide whether you are found, and whether the person who finds you calls.
The same applies to a cleaning, trades or home services business in the UK covering several London boroughs or towns. If that describes you, my local SEO service sets out how I approach it, or you can request a free SEO audit to see where your site and listing stand today.
